After Load/Reload/St Anger albums era, in 2003 James switched back to ESP Guitars Ltd series with two custom Snakebyte models built especially for him complete with Seymour Duncan JB humbucking pickups featured on S&M live performance released later that year as well as Escape From The Studio Tour documentary filmed during St Anger sessions at HQ Studios (CA). These are still considered today by many fans worldwide as classic Hetfield instruments used to produce some timeless riffs present on the band’s live recordings throughout last few decades.
