A capo is a device used to raise the pitch of a guitar’s strings, allowing musicians to play in different keys without having to learn new fingerings. To put a capo on a guitar, start by choosing an appropriate size for your fretboard and tightening the capo onto the neck so that it clamps firmly onto all of the strings. Then, use your fingers to push each string down onto the fret where you want it held before releasing them. Make sure you\u2019re pressing hard enough that each string is sounding clearly when plucked after being released from under the capo. Retune any strings as necessary since they may have gone slightly out of tune due to the tension created by clamping them with the capo.<\/p>\n
