Ellie left the guitar because it was no longer serving her purpose. This shaped her understanding of the world, as well as gave her an appreciation for all types of artistic expression.
In particular, Ellie enjoyed playing the guitar–so much so that she often found herself lost in the melody of a song or getting completely absorbed in writing her own pieces. Despite this passion for creating musical magic, something changed within Ellie when it came time for her to perform live on stage. Although many thought that she was shy due to nerves, there was actually a deeper meaning behind why Ellie left the guitar: fear of judgement from others who may not appreciate her unique style or feel connected with what she created musically.
The emotions tied up with feeling judged became too overwhelming for Ellie–she eventually decided that it was best for her if she pursued music as a hobby instead of pursuing it professionally where such criticism would come from both friends and strangers alike. While this decision was difficult at first, ultimately it allowed her to find true joy again in making music without worrying about judgmental eyes constantly watching over every move she made onstage.

The Struggle to Maintain Balance
For Ellie, a once budding musician, the decision to leave her guitar behind was one of immense difficulty. She knew music wasn’t going anywhere–only people do. As they say: ‘If you love something set it free’- so maybe one day this will happen with Ellie’s musical ambitions too.
Personal Challenges and Loss of Interest
Ellie’s departure from the guitar seemed sudden and unexpected to those around her, but for Ellie it was a long time coming. After years of lessons, rehearsals and performances, she had grown tired of playing the same chords and melodies over and over again. Music had become an increasingly arduous task as technical perfection became harder to achieve with each passing day. In addition to this fatigue, personal challenges began to arise in Ellie’s life which made dedicating any spare energy or focus towards music impossible. She struggled with anxiety that caused her intense worry about how others perceived her performance. This anxiety coupled with mental exhaustion meant she simply didn’t have the emotional bandwidth required to fully engage with her craft like before.
The decision to leave wasn’t easy; it came after weeks of soul-searching in which she asked herself whether pushing through these issues was worth it or if taking a break would be better for her health and wellbeing in the long run. Ultimately she realised that playing music because of expectation rather than passion wasn’t what she wanted anymore; so Ellie took a step back from performing and embarked on a journey of self-discovery.
Moving on with New Hobbies and Interests
Ellie had grown bored with the guitar. She was no longer passionate about playing it, but felt obligated to continue practicing and performing out of loyalty. But that obligation began to feel like a burden, preventing her from discovering new interests and passions.
So she made the difficult decision to give up the guitar and embark on an exciting journey of exploration, without the limitations placed on her by her old hobby. Through this process she was able to try a variety of different activities ranging from painting classes, learning Spanish, and even taking up surfing. While some pursuits didn’t last long, others became beloved hobbies that gave Ellie great pleasure for many years.
Ultimately giving up the guitar enabled Ellie to discover a number of different activities that allowed her to express herself in ways she could not have imagined when solely focused on music-making. It also opened up possibilities for collaboration with other people who shared similar interests and provided Ellie with opportunities for growth and personal development.
